I think the journey home is the easiest one to make.

What can make it hard is the thought that we are, in some way, shape or form, undeserving.  That’s the cornerstone of existential guilt.  The thought that I exist therefore I must be guilty, that religion loves to play on and we love to rebel against.

Guilt is an illusion that is healed by the illusion of forgiveness.  Religion often teaches that you have sinned so you need to be forgiven.  ACIM asks: how can you forgive what is seen as forever and always innocent?

The prodigal son/daughter is one of my favourite parables.  It exemplifies this principal and is deserving of being taken to Heart in each and every moment.
