LESSON 66.  God gives me only happiness.

God gives me only happiness.
He has given my function to me.
Therefore my function must be happiness.

My happiness and function are one, because God has
given me both.

Comment:

It’s lovely to have the course provide a good bit of Vulcan logic here:).  I wish it had been around when I had ‘that’ conversation with my Sunday School Teacher at the age of 8, or sometime around there, about the nature of God.

For me the reality of the nature of God is more of a felt thing than anything else.  Evidenced to me by the repeated experience that whenever I get off whatever angst or suffering I’m ‘entertaining’ myself with, love is always there.  As if it’s been waiting for me to come to my senses.  Patiently waiting.

So I figure Love is always Present.  Whether we feel it or not is up to us.  And whether we relate that Love to God, Goddess, All That Is or not, is also up to us.  I don’t think it matters what name we give it or don’t give it but I think that whether we appreciate that it is there at all times or not, does make a big difference to how we perceive the world and everyone in it, including ourselves.
