Comment:

I’ve always loved this lesson.  The truth in it has always seemed self evident to me.  As it has been for me to see God only as an inherently benevolent being.  In my mind anything to the contrary simply cannot be true.

But not everyone might define God, Goddess, All That Is, in the same way.   Exemplified in many religious texts as the being that punishes and banishes those that disobey His laws.  Get in behind or else, folks!

The challenge I see in this lesson is in this line:  Any attribute which is in accord with God as He defines Himself is appropriate for use.  The challenge I see here is who gets to decide how God would define Himself?  Or put another way, from which part of our minds are we looking from when we think about God defining Himself?

At some time we all need to come to this decision point.  Is there something beyond body, beyond mind that is behind all creation?   Does that something have inherent qualities?  And if so, what are they?

Here we need to be aware if we are creating God, Goddess, All That Is, in our image?   Like the ancient Greeks portrayed so well.  Or are we delving into the heart of something real, something inherently good that we can put our trust. our faith, our actions and indeed our lives behind.

Can we dive deep into our experience of life, sensed through the lens of love and forgiveness, enough to say, when we come up for air, that yes, only love is real.  That is how God, Goddess, All That Is defines Themselves.  And to live our lives from that awareness.

When it all boils down to it, that is what the course is inviting us to do.

The more the merrier I say:).
